On the first weekend in August, the Nuremberg Luitpoldhain will once again be transformed into the green stage for the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. Classical open air is announced – the "Woodstock of classical music" attracts hundreds of thousands of people outside under the sparkling starry sky every year in two concerts. What fits better than the great symphonic Hollywood sound, classical in widescreen format, so to speak. "All roads lead to Hollywood" – this is the motto of the evening. With composers such as Erich Wolfgang Korngold, James Horner and John Williams, big names of the film music are on the program of the orchestra, which has already recorded soundtracks for Hollywood blockbusters such as "Quo vadis". In addition, principal conductor Jonathan Darlington welcomes two soloists on stage, who are moving the audience to storms of enthusiasm everywhere with their breathtaking art: the multi-percussionist Alexei Gerassimez on drums and accordion virtuoso Martynas Levickis, a master on his instrument, which he himself calls "his magical trick box". Roland Kunz leads through the evening.
